Please read this if you’ve never used a skull shaver and/or suffer from ingrown hairs!!! It’s a bit long but worth it. This skull shaver has been the 3rd one I have tried and I am so happy I decided to give it a go. Before purchasing it, I did have my doubts, as the price is quite low for this type of product, especially compared to some other brands that charge over £100, and some of those aren’t even waterproof. Also, the adverts mainly over promise and under deliver, but not this time! I suffer from very bad ingrown hairs and have been struggling with shaving my skin for most of my adult life, hence a recent switch from safety razors over to skull shaver. This was done in an effort to try something different and hopefully, better. The issue is so bad that I have used a make-up concealer to combat/hide the redness and the spots over the years. I have a very public facing job and my appearance is very important to me. I’m a big guy of 6ft 4 and I really don’t want to be wearing make-up on a daily basis. So bear that in mind for what it’s done for me within the 6 weeks I’ve had it! Back to the review, this issue has caused quite bad and depressive thoughts since I’ve been a bald bloke from my early 20’s. Due to in part to hair loss and the fact that hair didn’t really suit me. The back of my head and neck were just awful. My skin is very thin on my neck and quite papery, so I have to be careful with what I use and how I use it. The advice I’d learned to combat ingrown hairs is to not cut the hair so short, therefore you can avoid leaving the hair below skin level, and as foil shavers don’t cut as close, you alleviate the problem, and for me it’s worked! It doesn’t cut as close as a safety or bladed razors, but you can only feel the difference and not really see it, unless you have very dark stubble or fast hair growth, which I don’t. I avoided skull shavers as I thought they were gimmicky and unnecessary, and the electric face shavers I’ve used in the past always ended up in the bin. I am so glad I gave them a try, and particularly this one. As for the performance of the Trimpod, it’s literally, head and shoulders above all the others I’ve tried, including one which was £35 more expensive. The head shave it delivers is very smooth and cuts very close to the scalp, and causes no nicks, pulls and doesn’t leave red scratch marks. The attachments it comes with are also perfect. If you’ve left your hair to grow too long, and need to give it a quick trim before you shave it, the included guides get it nice and short for the foil heads to finish the job. It does my face and scalp so well, I haven’t used anything else on any part of my head since I got it in the post. Plus, it really does get the job done quickly. If you stay on top of your skin care routine you can do your entire head and face in under 4 minutes whilst sat on the side of the bath or in the shower, absolutely brilliant! When I use it for my facial hair, I switch over to the smaller 3 blade cutter for the stubble. I’ve had it for about 6 weeks and use it at least 4 times a week on my head and face, and my skin has almost entirely cleared up and heal. I just have a few stubborn hairs to get rid of before my skin looks and feels like it did in my 30’s, and I’m 53 now. It has made me feel so good, and I can’t emphasise that enough. I’m hopeful that this product will keep me looking clean shaven and fresh, without stripping my skin, causing redness, beard rash and ingrown hairs, from now and until I need to stop shaving. It really is worth so much more than the current cost and I’d pay over £100 if they upped the price and I needed a new one, in my opinion it really is that good. It also feels great in the hand, I have very big hands and it sits perfectly in my palm, but it also fits in my partners hands and hers are tiny. It doesn’t over vibrate and the noise level is very low. The battery life is also absolutely ridiculous, in a great way. I got 3 full head and face shaves done and it wasn’t even below 60 percent. Once used I can sit it in it back in it’s very smart and discreet charging dock on the side, then I can grab and go whenever I need it. When you compare it to the others, where you have to stick a cable in or you have cables hanging all over the place, or worse, you forget to charge it entirely, this just adds to its appeal. A quick side note, I wish I’d included the little bag in the purchase as you got it for a bit cheaper in the bundle offer. It would be very handy for the bunch of attachments you get in the box, which was also way more than the other 3 I’d previously purchased. I definitely recommend the TrimPod 3.0 to anyone that is thinking of buying a new skull shaver as a replacement or for a first time user who is considering switching. It has literally given me my confidence back and I love it. In short, I am over the moon with my purchase and would recommend it anyone who shaves their head on a regular basis. Do not waste money on more expensive alternatives as you will only be paying for the name and not the performance of the product. The Trimpod 3.0 was bought as an upgrade to the 2.0. Its trim ability is good, and with the magnetic head, cleaning is much easier than with the 2.0. All in all, I am happy with the purchase.

I was so leary about legit shaving my face. I am a makeup fanatic and I got so tired of seeing the hairs in my photos. I started by cleansing my face and then primed my face with Tarte's Maracuja oil so it wasn't done on bare skin. It took me a bit to get angle figured out, but wow! Just look at the before and after photos! (Sorry about different lighting). The makeup looks like it lays so much nicer than before. You also don't see my stache and bushy brows. Heck yes! Must have for those close up instagram photos!

I really love this. As a mom of 3 I rarely get a shower long enough to keep my legs shaved and so I've gone a long time without shaving. I also just hate shaving. I am a redhead with fair skin and shaving is always irritating and awful for me. I've also tried waxing and hair removal creams. This beats everything for me, honestly. There is no pain, though very occasionally you might feel an extremely slight pull (but that might be because I was dealing with long hairs). It was very easy and took no time at all. I did think it was a little difficult to clean the first time but I didn't look at the instructions and fumbled with it blindly, so that was on me. I've included pictures in the interest of helping others decide on this product. This is just a review immediately after first use.
